No matter what page you flip to, this book is an easy read that carries you along with its fun and fact-filled style; it is also well researched enough to have a deserved place in any college course or university library. Written by the first baby boomer and two of her boomer friends, it traces how our culture has been influenced by the sheer numbers of the boomer generation during the past 60 years along with the products, trends, television shows, music and events that helped mold their lives.

Kathleen Casey-Kirschling is the number one baby boomer in the U.S., born one second after midnight, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA. Turning 60 this year marks a milestone not only for her but for the entire wave of boomers she has come to represent (demographers cite her birthday as the starting point for the 76+ million cohort of Americans born from 1946 through 1964). In 1980, she suddenly found herself the focus of unsought fame when Landon Jones depicted her as the first boomer in his book Great Expectations: America and the Baby Boom Generation.

Since then, she has seen her life recounted in newspapers and magazines as well as on TV each time the turning of a new decade approached. And she has become accustomed to reflecting on the times in which baby boomers have lived: assassinations, television, rock' n' roll, drugs, the Vietnam War, Watergate, Woodstock, the sexual revolution.

Now, for the first time, she has collaborated with two of her friends (also Fellow Boomers) to write a book about the times of the baby boomer generation as it was lived by them. It is meant to be light enough for bathroom reading and also thought provoking enough for an honored place in a real library. It gives a glimpse into the products, trends, television shows, music, and events that molded the boomers as well as a look at how, the culture they grew up in was influenced by their sheer numbers. it is a book which is surely to please and entertain as it evokes memories common to us all.
